Are you a highly skilled, hands-on Mechanical Technician ready to lead on complex, bespoke engineering projects?
Join a team producing one-off and low-volume precision products where your technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving drive results.
Working alongside the Workshop Manager, you’ll ensure every build is delivered safely, on time, and to exceptional standards.
What You’ll Do
- Lead assembly of precision mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and frameworks
- Read, interpret, and work from detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the assembly team
- Tackle complex mechanical challenges with practical, innovative solutions
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with subcontractors, fabricators, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability
- Support prototypes and production runs, resolving issues quickly to meet deadlines
- Communicate clearly across teams and with clients, integrating feedback effectively
- Maintain the highest internal quality standards
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
- Support ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliance, driving continuous improvement
- Champion safe working practices and staff wellbeing
- Level 3+ Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
- Strong, proven experience in mechanical engineering/manufacturing
- Proven leadership and team mentoring skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical documentation
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities
- Hands-on, methodical, adaptable, and confident with colleagues, suppliers, and clients
- Reliable commuting to Norwich; occasional overnight travel may be required
