Hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday

The Role
As a CNC Milling Machinist & CNC Router Operative, you will be responsible for producing high-quality machined components to precise specifications, ensuring strict adherence to engineering drawings and tolerances.
You must have previous experience operating CNC machinery and routers, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings confidently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately machine components from engineering drawings using mills, lathes, drills and small power tools
- Machine sheet materials as well as solid components
- Machine components from DFX files
- Modify existing and prototype components
- Liaise with the Engineering Design team, machining from sketches or verbal instructions when required
- Produce jigs to support production processes
- Assist development technicians with assembly and product testing when required
- Respond flexibly to task allocation from the Team Leader
- Use initiative to determine the most efficient and cost-effective machining methods
- Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and health & safety procedures
- Time-served apprentice in Mechanical Engineering and CNC Router operation, or equivalent workplace experience (essential)
- Proven ability to set up and operate manual milling/turning and CNC machines
- Strong experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ability to manufacture components from verbal instructions or sketches
- Knowledge of CNC programming would be advantageous
- Ability to create CNC files and tool paths
- Experience working within lean manufacturing and continuous improvement environments
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to work overtime, including occasional weekend work, depending on production needs
- Competitive hourly rate of £14.40
