GLASS MANUFACTURING OPERATIVE
Location: Norfolk
Pay Rate: £14.08 per hour plus overtime at time and a half
Location: Catfield, Norfolk

Select Recruitment is currently recruiting a Glass Manufacturing Operative on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of high-end glass products. This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-driven production environment where precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement are key.
 
THE ROLE:
 
You will work as part of a specialist glass production team, producing glass components to a consistently high standard. Full training will be provided across several processes, including:
  • Glass Cutting - Transferring CAD data and nesting parts to optimise glass sheet usage
  • Glass Grinding - Programming, setting, and operating glass edge-grinding machines
  • Glass Toughening - Training on in-house flat and bent glass toughening processes, including furnace, press-bent, and sagged bending systems
  • Glass Printing- Operating large-format printers to apply detailed designs prior to furnace processing
You will be trained to read and understand engineering drawings and work to required quality standards.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manufacture glass products right first time and to specification
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping
  • Handle glass safely, including manual lifting where required (mechanical lifting aids available)
  • Follow behavioural-based Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Contribute to lean and continuous improvement initiatives
ABOUT YOU:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Calm, controlled approach to work
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
SHIFT PATTERN
Week 1
  • Monday–Thursday: 06:00–14:00
  • Friday: 06:00–13:00
Week 2
  • Monday–Thursday: 14:00–22:00
  • Friday: 13:00–20:00
Rotating on a weekly basis. Overtime is paid at time and a half.
