This role is a key position within the Maintenance team across three sites in Mildenhall, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities while supporting reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair machinery and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
- Strip down machines and replace worn or broken components.
- Record and update maintenance tasks using dedicated software.
- Support and assist visiting service engineers.
- Maintain facilities across all company sites.
- Liaise with off-site contractors as the primary point of contact.
- Investigate processes and equipment for potential improvements or cost reductions.
- Provide maintenance support to other areas of the business as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with general workshop machinery and equipment.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance role, preferably within a production environment operating 24/7 or on a shift basis.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to strip down machinery and replace components such as bearings and conveyor belts.
- Competency in welding and fabrication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels.
