My client is a vibrant, contemporary research institute and registered charity, working in an area of rapid technological development and innovation.

They now have an exciting opportunity for someone with a fantastic track record of scientific storytelling and a portfolio of articles on relevant topics to join the team. You'll have a solid understanding of the life sciences and the research environment, with an eagerness to bring this to life for a range of different audiences. As a proactive and creative individual, you'll work with everyone in the Institute to help ensure their external relations are on message and enhance their reputation.

As the Communications and Outreach Officer, you will play a central role in creating engaging content about the Institute’s activities and coordinating their programme of public engagement, you will work to bring their science to life.

Working within a busy and friendly team, and reporting to the Head of Communications, you will plan, write and publish a range of articles to share the Institute’s impact and innovative science. You are also responsible for ensuring their public engagement delivers a two-way dialogue between their researchers and participants.

You will work with almost every person at the Institute and their trading subsidiary and your outputs will be highly visible. Once in post, you will plan new content, write excitedly about their science and other activities, identify outreach opportunities, and forge relationships with their research community.
