We are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support our client's customers across the EMEAI region. The role focuses on the commissioning, servicing, repair, and upgrade of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems used within industrial environments.
The position is home- or site-based from a London location, with regular international travel forming a core part of the role. Alongside hands-on engineering responsibilities, there is a customer-facing element involving technical advice, system upgrades, and service support.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning, servicing, and repairing low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and equipment
- Providing on-site and remote technical support and fault-finding
- Carrying out routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems
- Advising customers on replacement solutions and technical improvements
- Supporting service and maintenance agreements
- Identifying opportunities to support further work while on customer sites
- Completing service documentation and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations
- Designing and implementing upgrades on obsolete electrical equipment
- PLC and HMI programming, modification, and troubleshooting
- BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven track-record in a field service engineering role within industrial electrical environments
- Strong knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
- Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and manage travel-based workloads
- Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
- Willingness to travel extensively, with travel expected to account for approximately 85% of the working year
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs
- Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Base location: Battersea, London
- Travel: Approximately 85% international travel across the year, typically averaging two to three assignments per month
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems and switchgear
- PLC and HMI experience across a range of platforms
- Exposure to complex or regulated industrial environments
