Assistant Configuration Engineer

Select are currently working alongside an initiative Engineering and manufacturing company in Norwich, Norfolk. 
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add an Assistant Configuration Engineer to join their team in Norwich. 

As the Assistant Configurations Engineer, you will be reporting to the Configuration and Engineering Support Manager to provide configuration control and administrative support to the Engineering team for the full life cycle of our clients products
 
The main responsibilities will include:
  • The creation and approval of engineering parts, documentation and Bills of Material for release to manufacture and procurement
  • Assisting with the company change management process, maintaining product structures and configuration items whilst ensuring the integrity of the revised parts and documentation
  • Adhering to agreed best practice policies and approved operating procedures in line with Configuration Management Principles and processes
  • Responsibility for engineering permission settings and ensuring all completed work and documentation is transferred in an efficient and timely manner in line with the Configuration Managers/ Companies requirements and timescale
  • Assisting the Configuration and Engineering Support Manager with general engineering administration duties
  • Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role
 
About the Person:
 
  • HND Qualification within either Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent working experience within a similar role
  • Experience in design, support or manufacture process/ procedures
  • Experience working with technical drawings, schematics and Bill of Materials
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Computer Literate – standard Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
  • Strong administration skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Have a flexible approach with the ability to work within a small team to deliver the same goals and objectives
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet the requirements and deadlines of the role
  • Methodical and diligent with attention to detail
  • Strong and pragmatic problem solving approach
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Able to respond positively to change
