An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Technical Manager to join a dynamic and growing food supplement manufacturing business in the East of England.
This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence, while supporting New Product Development and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
The Role:
As Technical Manager, you’ll take ownership of all technical aspects of the product lifecycle — from formulation and product development to manufacturing support, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with teams across Production, Purchasing, Sales, and R&D to ensure products meet the highest industry standards.
This is an on-site position based off the ring road in Norwich, with occasional flexibility for remote working as the role progresses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee technical operations, product development projects, and quality assurance processes.
- Manage product specifications, technical documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead internal audits and facilitate third-party inspections.
- Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000).
- Collaborate with external labs, suppliers, and customers on technical matters.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry trends.
- Minimum 5 years’ technical experience within the food supplement, pharma or nutraceutical, or food manufacturing industry.
- A technical or quality based background
- Strong knowledge of analytical testing and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with EU food law, GMP principles, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Coast
- Competitive salary of circa £38,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience).
