Select is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for our client on the outskirts of Norwich.

My client is a leader within their field, due to continued growth they are looking to add an engineering professional within design team. This roles offers the opportunity to be part of an engineering team who work on challenging and innovative projects.

About the role:

To develop analogue and digital electrical circuit designs and solutions to support development and the life cycle of the naval systems range. The successful candidate will primarily work on analogue and digital hardware design but may also work on wiring design for interconnecting systems. Work will involve new design projects, but the candidate will additionally be required to support existing products and projects.
The Main responsibilities will include:
  • Designing the electrical and electronic solutions for defined requirements
    · Components/parts selection and evaluation
    · Generation of test, interface and supplier documentation
    · Assisting test department in initial first of class (prototype) testing
    · Writing reports, giving presentations and meeting with clients and management
    · Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role.
About the Person
Essential:
  • HND or a degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrable experience in a related engineering field
    · Experience of circuit design, simulation, layout, testing and evaluation for prototypes and production units.
    · Ability to design wiring interconnection systems
    · Ability to create interface and equipment specifications.
    · Ability to create test specifications for designs, testing and to support interdepartmental testing of equipment.
    · Ability to support proposals by creating bid documents and compliance matrices.
    · Ability to present technical information to audiences with all levels of technical experience.
    · Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
Desirable:
· Knowledge of working to industry standards (eg Defence/ Military Standards)
· Experience of PCB layout packages.
