Machine Operative

Calling all Machine Operators in the Preston area! Do you fancy some ongoing full time work with overtime available at the weekends too? How do you fancy earning a wage which is well above market rate?

Our client is a well known manufacturer of boilers and an increase in workload means they now need to ramp up their recruitment with the help of Select.

In a nutshell, you will working within the department which welds and creates the stainless steel shells for the boilers. Prior welding experience would be highly desired but is not a deal breaker if you've not done it before as full training will be given. We also require people who can assist with the final assembly of the boilers, putting together all of the components.

You will work double days meaning one week of 6-2 and then 2-10 the following week.

This is ongoing work and the rate of pay is £9.50 per hour basic plus a weekly shift allowance (equates to an hourly rate equivalent of £11.20 per hour). Overtime is paid at x1.5 of your basic rate on Saturdays and x2 on Sundays.

There are annual recruitment reviews here and so if you go in and do a good job, you could find yourself securing a permanent job after time.

Given the shift times, it would be preferred if you had your own vehicle and were not reliant on public transport.
