The position centres on operating and maintaining lathe machinery, inspecting finished components, and upholding consistently high production standards throughout. Full training is provided, supported by a structured onboarding programme to help you settle in from day one.
Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Sunday to Wednesday
- Week 2: Sunday to Tuesday
- Shift Times: 06:00 to 18:00
- Duration: Up to 6 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00
- £12.95 per hour during training
- £14.76 per hour after training, once transferred to shifts
- Shape, cut, and finish materials to precise tolerances using lathe machinery
- Set up and operate equipment safely and in accordance with best practice
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic fault-finding on machinery
- Inspect completed components to confirm they meet quality and specification requirements
- Use precision measuring instruments with care and accuracy
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures without exception
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout all stages of production
- Prior experience working with lathe machines is advantageous
- A genuine commitment to producing work of a consistently high standard
- A solid working knowledge of health and safety practices within a manufacturing setting
