The Opportunity
A well-established and expanding construction manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to take ownership of transport and delivery operations across the UK.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll be at the centre of daily logistics planning — ensuring materials, products, and equipment reach construction sites safely, efficiently, and on time. Your work will directly support live projects and factory output, playing a vital role in keeping programmes on track, managing transport risk, and controlling delivery costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to support manufacturing output and active construction sites
- Act as the main point of contact for hauliers, drivers, site managers, project teams, customers, and suppliers
- Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in line with project programmes
- Manage and resolve transport challenges such as delays, route restrictions, site access issues, breakdowns, and urgent changes
- Arrange abnormal and oversized loads, including route planning, permits, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor logistics performance and produce regular delivery and transport reports
- Track and maintain accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
- Support cost control by monitoring transport spend and identifying efficiencies
- Maintain accurate transport records in line with company procedures and legal requirements
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve planning, minimise disruption, and drive continuous improvement
- Solid experience in logistics coordination, transport planning, or fleet management
- Background in construction, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is highly desirable
- Experience managing multiple daily deliveries to live sites
- Understanding of construction site logistics, delivery sequencing, and access limitations
- Strong knowledge of transport planning, routing, and scheduling
- Good understanding of UK road transport regulations, permits, and load restrictions (including abnormal loads)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with site teams, hauliers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Effective problem-solver, particularly under pressure or when handling urgent logistics issues
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and record-keeping
- Commercial awareness with a basic understanding of transport cost control
- Salary of £30,000 to £34,000 - depending on experience
- A pivotal operational role within a growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business
- Involvement in major construction projects across the UK
- Long-term career development opportunities in logistics and transport during an exciting period of growth
