Job Role: As an Industrial Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct routine maintenance, fault finding, and repair on a wide range of electrical equipment including conveyors, motors, sensors, and control panels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems and reduce unexpected failures.
- Install, commission, and decommission electrical equipment and systems in accordance with industry standards and company requirements.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and upgrade of existing systems to improve production efficiency and safety.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure proper use and care of electrical equipment.
- Work closely with other engineers and departments to support production needs and project initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and downtime incidents.
- Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repair.
- Familiarity with a range of electrical equipment and tools used in food manufacturing.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to work a 12-hour shift pattern including days and nights.
- High level of attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
