Forecast & Packaging Manager

Location: Attleborough
Position Type: Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 x 8-hour days Monday–Saturday (Saturday working on a rota shared between three roles, with a day off in the week in lieu)
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 depending on experience

The Role
The Forecast & Packaging Manager is responsible for managing the organisation’s forecasting processes to maintain accurate, data-driven demand forecasts and ensure operational efficiency.

This role requires the ability to predict market trends, respond to seasonal changes, and work closely with the Production Planning Manager to provide cover when required.

You will also provide rotating Saturday production cover alongside the Shift Supervisor.
 
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Planning
  • Maintain, collate, and monitor farm and sales forecasts for accuracy.
  • Use forecasting data to identify periods of over- or under-supply and take appropriate action.
  • Analyse historical sales data, market trends, customer demand patterns, and promotional activity to inform forecasts.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Production teams to align forecasts with planning and supply chain strategy.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve forecasting techniques and technologies.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse internal and external data (weekly/monthly) to identify anomalies or potential risks.
  • Prepare reports for internal teams and stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Review and improve forecasting models, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
Inventory & Packaging Management
  • Maintain accurate records of packaging and materials used, including inventory monitoring.
  • Ensure stock levels are aligned with production forecasts, minimising overstocking or shortages.
  • Support operational efficiency and maximise resource utilisation across the supply chain.
Operational Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with production and transport teams to ensure forecast integration and operational efficiency.
  • Support Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) processes and other logistical requirements.
  • Communicate, escalate, and resolve any issues that could impact service levels or operational targets.
Skills & Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or a related field preferred but not essential.
  • Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or related roles.
  • Experience interpreting complex data, identifying trends, and translating analysis into actionable plans.

  • Flexible attitude to work, including participation in the Saturday rota.
