Select Recruitment has recently taken instruction from a leading independent Accountancy practice who are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Accounts team.
The business is based in Lincoln with easy road links to Grantham, Newark and Sleaford. The firm have a range of clients; acting for many multimillion-pound turnover businesses and various specialist organisations.
Key responsibilities:
• The preparation of client accounts, up to draft/final stage dependent on the complexity of the business, for approval/sign off by Manager or Director.
• Corporate and personal tax computations for review by Manager or Director
• To develop good working relationships with clients to advise where applicable and necessary.
• Mentoring and training of more junior members of the team.
• Assistance on audit assignments, with the opportunity for candidates with suitable experience to lead audits.
Ideal Candidate:
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or QBE, with at least three years practice experience
• Strong accounting system knowledge and Excel skills
• Good working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant taxation matters
• Experience of working on audit assignments desirable
• Ability to prepare year end accounts for companies, sole-traders and partnerships to draft stage
• A positive, enthusiastic team player
• The ability to liaise with the other departments in the practice such as payroll and bookkeeping.
Your Role
The role will require the preparation of accounts and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships to draft stage, ready for review, together with assistance on audit assignments.
Preparation of corporation tax computations and personal tax computations to draft stage, ready for review. Mentoring and training of more junior members of staff. Assistance on audit assignments.
The ability to travel is desirable as you will be required to undertake work at clients premises or at other sites situated at Retford and Grantham.
