Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support a team of skilled tradespeople, including fabricators, fitters, welders, and electricians
  • Allocate tasks and monitor progress to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the build and assembly process
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and problem-solving where required

  • Uphold strict health and safety standards across the workshop
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment
  • Assist in training and mentoring apprentices and junior team members
What We’re Looking For:
  • Solid technical background in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related disciplines
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead position within a workshop or manufacturing environment
  • Competence in reading technical drawings and interpreting build instructions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands
  • Effective communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity
Qualifications & Experience:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering workshop environment
  • Forklift certification is an advantage
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in a key leadership role, with a competitive salary of £36,000 – £42,000 per annum and long-term career development potential.
