The Role
We’re looking for a proactive Production Technician / Engineer to take full ownership of a production line — ensuring it runs safely, efficiently, and to target.
This is a varied, hands-on position that goes well beyond basic machine setup. You’ll be actively involved in day-to-day production, quality control, and process improvement — adjusting and fine-tuning machinery, solving problems before they impact output, and supporting the wider team with training and technical guidance.
As the Production Technician / Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and continuously improving line performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, run, and optimise production lines according to daily production plans.
- Carry out machine adjustments, tool changes, and minor maintenance to maximise performance.
- Monitor product quality and make proactive corrections to maintain high standards.
- Take responsibility for the overall efficiency, output, and quality of your production line.
- Identify and resolve faults quickly, using strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Work closely with Engineers and Line Leaders to implement process improvements and minimise downtime.
- Support, train, and mentor operators to develop their understanding and performance
- Maintain accurate records for production, downtime, and quality checks.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
- Previous experience as a Line Setter, Machine Setter, or Production Technician in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Confident in mechanical setup, fault finding, and process optimisation, some kind of engineering background would be very preferable
- Hands-on, practical approach with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, able to guide and support others.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive in maintaining smooth line performance.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and product quality requirements.
- Permanent, full-time role – 6:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- Career development opportunities
- A stable and supportive working environment within a forward-thinking manufacturer.
- On-site visit available to see the production process in action before joining.
