About the Role
A leading manufacturing organisation is looking for a proactive Production Planner / Master Scheduler to take ownership of production planning, scheduling, and material coordination. In this role, you’ll ensure customer orders are aligned with factory capacity, optimise workflow efficiency, and provide key visibility to teams across operations.
This position offers genuine autonomy, allowing you to shape your daily schedule, influence production priorities, and make meaningful improvements to planning processes.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally bring plenty of proven experience in production planning or scheduling, along with a strong understanding of data-driven decision making.
Ideal candidate
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formulas, macros, VBA advantageous)
- Experience using Sage, Oracle, or another ERP/MRP platform
- Confidence with Microsoft Power BI or similar analytical tools
- A data-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and prioritisation abilities
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work autonomously
- Build, manage and optimise the full production schedule, covering Build, Test, Calibration and Shipment activities.
- Work closely with Production Team Leaders to ensure resource availability and accurate workflow planning.
- Communicate production capability and constraints to Finance, Customer Service and wider operations.
- Prepare and maintain the monthly PSI (Production, Sales & Inventory) plan for management approval.
- Maintain and update Line of Balance charts to highlight potential shortages or schedule risks.
- Create, maintain and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) jobs within the ERP system to accurately reflect demand.
- Track performance through Daily Management practices and prioritise production support as required.
- Highlight risks to customer delivery, including delays, backlog growth and on-time-delivery issues.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, including standard work documentation and lean planning tools.
