Do you want to help change the world of both agriculture and robotics? Do you want to work with and support some of the best STEM minds in the world? Our client is looking for a Principal Technician to support them with their new agri-food focused robotics lab.

You’ll be joining a team that spans multiple STEM hubs in the East Anglian region with a focus on Cambridge. After a £10m grant from the UK government, our client is looking to develop a centre of excellence around agri-food robotics. You will be working with highly specialist equipment, using your HNC or engineering degree knowledge, you’ll be supporting the design and delivery of experiments.

You’ll be creating test environments and installing the robots to ensure a collaborative highly supportive research environment. You’ll be using your established experience in instrumentation, monitoring systems and data acquisition (Python, Matlab and experience of Fanuc G code) to support highly capable STEM professionals with their experiments.

To succeed in this role you will:
  • Be confident interacting and supporting people from all different backgrounds to support their success.
  • Have an exceptional eye for technical detail to allow experiments to run without issues.
  • Be comfortable preparing protocols, SOP, RAMS and user guides.
You’ll be working with some of the best scientists in the world to find a solution for the growing agricultural demand of the UK. You’ll be able to constantly learn new cutting edge developments in the field of robotics. You will be directly involved in influencing positive and needed change around the nation.
