The Opportunity
Select Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of this reputable plant hire company for a skilled and motivated Plant Mechanic / Fitter to join their busy depot in Beccles.
This is a hands-on role based in a well-equipped workshop, with additional opportunities to carry out field-based servicing and repairs. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and experienced team, taking responsibility for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a wide range of plant equipment used across the construction and civil engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on various plant machinery
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs, both in the workshop and on-site
Ensure all work is completed safely and to high-quality standards
Work closely with the Depot Manager and wider team to prioritise tasks and workflow
Maintain accurate service records and report any equipment issues promptly
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in plant maintenance or mechanical repair (essential)
Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A flexible attitude and pride in delivering top-quality service
Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent – desirable)
A full driving licence would be beneficial for field-based repairs
