Office Manager / Senior Administrator
Location: Cambridge
Pay: £28,000 – £35,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Work type: On-site, Free parking
 
We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Office Manager / Senior Administrator to step into a key role on behalf of a highly innovative and growing business based in Cambridge.

This isn’t a traditional admin position. It’s a senior, hands on opportunity where you’ll take full ownership of day-to-day office and site operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly across purchasing, finance support, logistics, facilities coordination and customer service.
 
What you’ll be doing
  • Manage purchasing and procurement, including raising purchase orders, supplier management, stock control, and delivery tracking
  • Source, negotiate, and liaise with suppliers to improve value, lead times, and reliability
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing records using Sage 50
  • Coordinate with Finance on invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and cost control
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, systems, filing, and document control
  • Produce works orders, SOPs, ECNs, reports, timesheets, and operational documentation
  • Act as first point of contact for calls, visitors, customers, and site access
  • Manage order processing, invoicing, logistics, deliveries, returns, and stock movements
  • Coordinate contractors, facilities, office supplies, health & safety documentation, and site presentation
  • Support onboarding, meetings, events, and wider business projects as required
What we’re looking for
  • Solid experience in office management, or business support
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments (highly desirable)
  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Professional communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • IT confident, ideally with Sage 50 or similar systems
