We are currently recruiting for a Patient Porter to join the team at one of our brilliant clients based in Norwich. This is an essential frontline role, supporting the smooth and safe operation of hospital services by assisting in the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies across various departments.
Location: Norwich
Salary: £12.21 per hour (increases to £12.51 after 12 weeks)
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 14:00–00:00 (first approx 4 weeks will be 09:00-17:00 for training)
Benefits: Enhanced pay for weekends, nights, and bank holidays after 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients between wards, departments, and other hospital areas
- Assist in moving medical equipment, supplies, and other essential items
- Provide courteous and compassionate support to patients, visitors, and clinical staff
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and confidentiality at all times
- Respond promptly and professionally to portering requests
- Good command of spoken English for effective communication and safety
- Physically fit, as the role involves a lot of walking and steps per day
- A caring, empathetic approach with a focus on patient welfare
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy hospital setting
- Flexibility to complete training and work the 4 on 4 off shift pattern
- Previous experience in a hospital or similar environment is advantageous but not essential – full training will be provided
- £12.21 per hour, increasing to £12.51 after 12 weeks
