Select in Lincoln is currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer on a full time, permanent basis.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be instrumental in embedding and enforcing a positive health and safety culture using a variety of methods, and will be confident in the delivery of promoting health and safety in a variety of different circumstances and situations. You will be responsible for providing H&S advice and guidance, preparing, reviewing and revising H&S polices, responding to outcomes of H&S audits or inspections and coordination and provision of training and support to staff, students and visitors to the University.

You will be a hands-on, pragmatic, people-orientated individual, with demonstrable influencing skills. It is essential that you will be a team player with the ability to engage collaboratively with staff, students and third parties, organise your own time effectively and have a flexible approach as the work demands will change.

Skills and Qualifications required:

You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or an equivalent qualification along with significant relevant experience. Previous experience in a Higher Education environment is desirable but not essential. You will have excellent I.T. and communication skills and will be able to work on your own initiative.
