We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our client's precision engineering team in Ely, supplying a wide range of high-quality components into the aviation, aerospace, and other advanced engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set, operate, and program CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances.
- Work independently from engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout production.
- Utilise twin-spindle lathes with Y-axis capabilities and driven tooling (ideally Doosan machines) to deliver complex machining solutions.
- Support production across a range of machining centres, including Haas and Doosan vertical machining centres.
- Operate and support production on sliding head lathes (experience advantageous but not essential).
- Machine a variety of challenging and exotic materials, including Inconel, titanium, and other high-performance alloys.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, process optimisation, and lean manufacturing initiatives to maximise efficiency and quality.
- Proven background in CNC Turning, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in programming and setting complex parts.
- CAD/CAM knowledge (training can be provided if required).
- Ability to inspect own work using a variety of measuring equipment, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
