In this Catering Assistant role, you will be instrumental in aiding with food preparation, service, and ensuring that the dietary requirements of residents, guests, and students are fulfilled.
You'll work across Schools, Care Homes, Contract Catering, and Events in the Ipswich area, so a driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be advantageous.

- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, and portioning food items
- Set up serving areas and ensure they are adequately stocked with necessary items
- Serve meals to residents or students promptly and courteously
- Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Provide friendly and helpful service to residents, guests, students, and staff
- Collaborate with the catering team to ensure seamless operations
- Previous experience in catering, food service, or a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Enhanced DBS (essential)
