We are actively recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established Accountancy Practice in Lincoln. This company has 3 offices across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

You will be joining a company who take staff well-being seriously and invest time and effort into each employee.

Your role of bookkeeper involves working with the client managers to look after a portfolio of clients, requesting records, carrying out bookkeeping on a range of different software, resolving queries and communicating with clients regarding the VAT liabilities. A range of different software will be used including, but not limited to Xero, Quickbooks and Sage Line 50.

Their clients operate in a variety of different sectors and knowledge of standard accounting, cash accounting, flat rate scheme and partial exemption is desired.

Reconciliation of bank accounts, sales ledger and purchase ledger will be required.

It is expected that work will be undertaken both in the office and at client's premises as required. It may be necessary for work to be undertaken in the other offices as required and the ability to travel is desirable.

Key responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping for a number of clients, ensuring accurate entry of data.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns for clients, liaising with client managers and monitoring deadlines for filing.
• To develop good working relationships with clients and other departments in the practice.

To be a successful applicant for this position you will need to have experience working as a Bookkeeper within a bureau, a strong knowledge of various VAT schemes and experience using a range of different software's. In addition, you will need to be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, have a high attention to detail and most importantly be able to work as part of a team.
