There are an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. Roughly 400,000 people are told the news that they have cancer each year, and over 8000 per year in Norfolk and Waveney alone. Since 1980, my client Big C has been dedicated to the fight against cancer and today, they help thousands of people affected by cancer across the county, while working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes. Their work focuses on four key areas - supporting people affected by cancer, funding world-class local research into cancer, providing vital medical equipment and facilities in the county's main acute hospital Trusts, providing interventional and presentational education programmes for the general public and healthcare professionals.

They now have a requirement for an Assistant Retail Operations Manager, which is a role that is instrumental to the ongoing development of their retail team through daily engagement, coaching and leadership of staff, while supporting the Retail Operations Manager in delivering the broader retail strategy.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and supporting the delivery of the day-to-day operations, standards and processes of Big C's Distribution Centre and shops.
This is very much a hands-on role within their retail outlets and distribution centre, ensuring that the maximum amount of income is generated.

With an enthusiastic and positive attitude, a creative flair and passion for service you will ensure that the shops are industry leading when it comes to Visual Merchandising and delivering excellent customer service.

Acting as an ambassador for Big C, Norfolk's Cancer Charity, you will ensure that the retail business supports, promotes awareness and endorses the aims and objectives of Big C.

It goes without saying that you will have a retail background - any experience in the charity sector would be a bonus! Previous exposure to visual merchandising would be really helpful, along with experience in a team leadership or supervisory capacity.

This is a 6month contract starting asap! If you think you tick the boxes, and have a car (mileage paid for all site visits), then get in touch with Emma Baylis now for more info!
