Select Recruitment Specialists is partnered with a successful manufacturing components business based in Lincoln.
We are looking for skilled quality inspectors who are apprentice trained in an engineering discipline. The role is on a 3 shift basis and would involve learning the processes in all departments. Eventually the Inspector would take responsibility for quality on a shift in one of the production areas. The candidate must be able to work with others on their shift but must also be able to work on their own initiative to ensure quality standards are met.
The role would entail the following:
- Measurement from First Principles using hand held measuring equipment.
- Interpretation of forging and CAD drawings.
- Full dimensional mark-outs for PPAP reports.
- Use of Faro measuring arms and 3D Scanners.
- Forging defect recognition and terminology.
- Assessment of rejects and dispositioning to scrap or rework.
- Conducting capability studies on processes.
- Conducting despatch audits.
- Supporting calibration activities as required.
- Problem investigation and resolution.
- General Product and Process measurement.
- Gauge R & R studies.
- Machining terminology.
- Surface finish measurements.
Hours and Shift Pattern:
This is a 3-shift role, 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11 & 11pm to 7am, and accommodations cannot be made on this.
All rates have anti-social hours allowances for afternoon shifts at £0.0482 per hour and night shifts at £1.0225 per hour.
Hourly rates:
£11.16 while under initial supervised training in the Finishing Area.
£11.74 minimum as a Finishing Area Inspector on their own shift.
£12.15 minimum as a Forge Inspector on their own shift.
