Job Title: Operations & Maintenance Technician
Location: Outskirts of Haverhill
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum, depending on experience
Shift Pattern: Double Day Shifts (rotating and staggered)

Overview
We are looking for a proactive Operations & Maintenance Technician to join a collaborative team on the outskirts of Thetford.

This role involves overseeing the safe and efficient handling of materials, carrying out routine checks, and providing first-line maintenance support.

A mechanical mindset is essential, with the ability to problem-solve and work hands-on with equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor site equipment safely, ensuring maximum reliability and efficiency.
  • Carry out routine checks, inspections, and operational tasks to maintain smooth site operations.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of deliveries and collections, maintaining traffic flow and weighbridge records.
  • Conduct quality checks and assist with stock audits.
  • Provide hands-on support to maintenance and engineering teams, including defect rectification, planned/reactive maintenance, and basic fault-finding.
  • Record all activities, issues, and works within the site’s maintenance management system.
  • Assist during planned shutdowns and outages, which may involve standard day-working.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, contributing to the development of safe operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A mechanical mindset with strong problem-solving ability is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications (ONC/City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a technical skill) are preferred, but not essential if supported by practical experience.
  • Licences/experience with Counterbalance FLT, Telehandler, Front Loader, or Overhead Crane highly desirable.
  • Previous exposure to heavy process or industrial environments advantageous.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices (IOSH Managing Safely an advantage).
  • Full UK driving licence.
