As a Fire Door Installer/Maintenance Engineer at UEA, you will be responsible for the inspection and maintenance of the University's fire door stock, ensuring all remediation is in line with fire safety regulations. You will install new fire doors to industry standards, maintaining the fire door certification, and process documentation to provide clear sight of all remedials carried out. You will manage and oversee various maintenance tasks, from preventative inspections to fault rectification, all while contributing to the university's ambitious Key Performance Indicators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Ensure all university fire doors are regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with fire safety regulations.
  • Installation: Install new fire doors to industry standards, maintaining certification and compliance.
  • Documentation: Process documentation to provide clear and accurate records of all remedials carried out.
  • Carpentry: Utilise excellent carpentry skills for fire door installation and maintenance, including maintaining fire door sets and ironmongery.
  • Drylining: Perform small fire-stopping repairs.
  • Construction Site Activities: Engage in first and second fix carpentry, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship.
Specific Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Fire door Level 3 award in fire door safety or 3rd party accredited training.
  • Experience: Proven record of fire door installation and maintenance, including experience in construction site activities.
