Financial Controller

On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join their Senior Leadership Team.

This is a pivotal role within a growing organisation where you’ll lead the finance function, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support strategic decision-making at the highest level.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving financial performance, improving processes, and contributing to the long-term growth of the business.

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Financial Controller who will:
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes.
  • Provide strategic financial insight to inform business decisions and long-term planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures, with a focus on revenue recognition in long-term contracts.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement and systems development.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
  • Oversee monthly payroll, VAT, and intercompany financial arrangements.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a complex or project-based environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of financial standards and regulations.

  • Commercially minded, with the ability to align financial performance with strategic goals.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and pragmatic in approach.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Confident working with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Experience managing revenue recognition for long-term contracts is highly desirable.
