On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join their Senior Leadership Team.
This is a pivotal role within a growing organisation where you’ll lead the finance function, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support strategic decision-making at the highest level.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving financial performance, improving processes, and contributing to the long-term growth of the business.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Financial Controller who will:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes.
- Provide strategic financial insight to inform business decisions and long-term planning.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures, with a focus on revenue recognition in long-term contracts.
- Drive operational efficiency through process improvement and systems development.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Oversee monthly payroll, VAT, and intercompany financial arrangements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a complex or project-based environment.
- Strong technical understanding of financial standards and regulations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to align financial performance with strategic goals.
- Proactive, hands-on, and pragmatic in approach.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to finance and non-finance stakeholders alike.
- Influential leadership style with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Confident working with financial software and ERP systems.
- Experience managing revenue recognition for long-term contracts is highly desirable.
