Role: CNC Turner (Permanent)
Rate: £15.00 per hour
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: Early finish (typically around mid‑afternoon)
We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join our client's precision engineering team. You will work within the machining department to produce high-quality components to drawing and specification, operating CNC turning machines and ensuring production schedules and quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision turned components in various materials (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to achieve required tolerances and finishes.
- Load tooling, fixtures, and materials; ensure correct programmes are selected or created.
- Monitor machine operations, make adjustments for feeds/speeds, and ensure quality outputs.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to inspect parts in‑process and at completion.
- Maintain a tidy and organised work area consistent with health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Previous experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of tooling, feeds & speeds, and safe machining practices.
- Competent using precision measuring tools.
- A proactive approach, good communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
