Teacher of Visually Impaired
£35,000 – £40,000 (negotiable) per annum, pro rata
East London

We are currently seeking a teacher of visually impaired children and young people to work with our client, a local authority, based in East London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and providing advice for visually impaired pupils in mainstream and special schools. You will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills and understand the barriers to access arrangements and learning that children and young people with a visual impairment face and how these barriers may be overcome.
Specialist knowledge and experience with SEN and visually impaired is essential. The post holder will need to have an ability to challenge, motivate and inspire teachers, teaching assistants, parents/ carers and professionals across the Children and Young People’s Service.

Essential Criteria:
• Must be QTS and QTVI qualified
• Be experienced teaching visually impaired students
• Full enhanced DBS
• Support & work effectively with your team
• Plan effective and educational lessons
• Be able to effectively liaise with parents/guardians
• Be able to travel to East London
