Sub Contract Team Member

Our client based in Lincoln an Engineering based organisation are seeking a sub contract supply chain team member on a permanent full time basis- This will be starting in the new year, Monday to Friday 07:00AM-15:30PM.

Role Responsibilities

•Part of a small team with a shared responsibility for a combined annual spend of >£21’000’000
•Raising and expediting orders
•Communicating information within the Supply Chain Team and the Operations arena generally, and with Supply Chain generally, to ensure performance meets business metrics
•Ensuring Business requirements relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery of processed products are achieved
•Ensuring documentation is accurate
•Responsibility for all aspects of workflow related to sub-contract operations
•Expedite activities / items at various approved vendors to meet the manufacturing requirement as defined by the Supply Chain / Procurement Manager
•Raise documentation packs for sub-contract operations, liaising with the Laboratory where required
•Ensure logistical operations prior to despatch, and on return from the vendor are carried out in an effective and efficient manner that minimise lead time between internal production operations
•Ensure parts / material / documentation / serial numbers are checked both on shipment and receipt
•Pack the components to ensure that transportation from the Lincoln site to the vendor
•Unpack processed components from vendors, liaising with the vendor, quality and engineering in a timely manner
•Support the Shipping Team by packing components , and arranging shipping for external couriers
•Support the Production Store Team by issuing components out for sub contract processes
•Support management in arranging transportation of parts / material,
•Liaise with sub-contractors on a regular basis to ensure performance is in
•Ensure that on completion of the sub-contract process, parts handed back
•Production are ‘fit for use’ and meet all standards relevant to work storage / documentation packages etc
Maintain the upkeep of accurate information in relation to Sub-Contracted operations and Vendor performance
•Proactively identify, communicate and implement corrective action plans when schedule goes ‘off-target’
•There is an expectation that you will be flexible within the department. Part of the role will involve ‘hands-on’ activities required to move product to/from the supply chain

Candidate Key Skills and Competences

•Supply Chain background, (ideally).
•IT Literate – ideally IT qualification
•Positive outlook with the personality and drive to achieve results
•Full driving licence / FLT licence (training can be arranged)
•Good Communication and inter-personal skills are essential for this role
•Strong conflict management skills. Able to demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude
•A commitment to achieving the best solutions
•Relentless in exceeding customer expectations
•Work within the framework of Supply Chain Policies and Procedures, whilst at the same time, endeavour to highlight new ways of doing things that benefit the department and learn from past experiences
•Flexible attitude is essential. Part of the role will include physical elements, (such as moving work around the work area and packing / unpacking orders)
•Must be able to work as part of a team, working within a high pressure environment
•Strong problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
•Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a positive manner
•Show strong customer service skills in managing difficult situations with both internal and external customer issues
•Ensure business and departmental targets are achieved
•Work within the Quality Management System, under the guidelines of BS EN ISO 9001 / BS EN 9100, and any other controls that may be supplemented to meet the specific requirements of customers and regulatory authorities

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

•Accountable to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager
•Responsible in ensuring the External Supply Chain functions effectively, adds value to the business, and that each sub-contractor plays their part in achieving targets set by both Customers and Shareholders.
•Responsible for the performance of individual sub-contractors, and the service they provide
•Responsible for achieving specific targets and objectives as set by the Supply Chain Segment Leader
•Responsible for own self-development / Identifying required training that would benefit the business
