Site Manager

Our client is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and disciplined individual accountable for safe, efficient and reliable operation of their Lincoln based site. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the site security, performance and day-to-day production activity with focus on safety, quality and customer service.

Key Skills

•Leadership of the production team to deliver site performance, in line with the business plan.
•Ensuring all work is carried out safely, using risk assessment and safe systems of work.
•Managing and allocating resource to react to work on priorities and production demand.
•Ensuring completion of routine inspections on site and monitoring compliance to processes.
•Driving team discipline to ensure high quality and compliance to procedures.
•Establishing a strong team, managing team competence, communicating effectively and maintaining high morale.
•Compiling and maintaining detailed, accurate records of production activities.
•Leading formal investigations & reviewing processes to investigate failures, opportunities & threats and to implement continuous improvement.
•Implementation of the site’s long-term improvement programme actions and development of plans towards operational excellence.
•Participation in hazard studies for existing processes and project work.
•Maintaining security of the site, emergency response procedures and site readiness.
•Monitoring of staff performance and implementation of the Company discipline & appraisal processes.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate is likely to be degree qualified in a technical subject and must have experience of leadership in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience of compliance to safety, environmental and quality management systems is essential, along with a good understanding of best practice within the chemical industry. The successful candidate must be capable of working to tight timescales, delegating effectively, working comfortably under pressure and being an approachable leader. A qualification in management is preferred.

•Proven track record in leadership, management and development of employees.
•Flexibility and willingness to take the lead to challenge existing knowledge & culture.
•Computer literate, competence with Microsoft Office. An understanding of Microsoft Navision Dynamics would be advantageous.
•Good written and oral communication skills are essential
•Ideally possess NEBOSH NGC (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety
•Full, clean driving licence.

45 hours per week (nominally 0730 – 1700); some weekend working & extended hours during our busy periods will be expected. Intersite travel may be required.
