Service Charge Accountant

Our client is seeking a Service Charge Accountant on a temporary basis to start as soon as possible until Mid April at least

The successful candidate will deliver a project plan in relation to establishing robust service charge processes in relation to new tenancies, new developments and creating a reporting mechanism to extract service charge information held in various systems into one place to aid reporting.

Service Charge Project – Scope establish a robust service charge process
Produce a project plan identifying timescales for each element of the project to be agreed with the Head of Finance
Develop a model to collate service information together from various systems to enable the organisation to recharge to tenants
Identifying potential service charges on
– New developments – creating charge schedules with new service charges
– New tenancy sign ups in existing blocks
Review existing service charge documentation to gain understating of work to date
Calculate the maximum service charges for existing schemes capturing all services paying particular attention to under/over recovery with the view to rectify going forward
Liaise with all teams within the organisation with regard to the remit of the project to embed processes and establish inter team working.
Promote joint working and good relationships with the Council and support service colleagues where applicable
Provide data for the completion of Service charge reporting
