Senior Chef de Partie, Buckinghamshire Restaurant & Pub, £22,000 to £25,000 pa + Tips

At Select Appointments Oxford we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Chef de Partie to work for this busy award winning gastro pub situated near Aylesbury.

The Role:

Senior Chef de Partie needed to join a strong team of talented chefs. The job involves preparing ingredients for dishes cooked from scratch with locally sourced fresh ingredients to very high standards.
My client needs someone with experience of cooking from scratch in a busy and high standard environment and who cares about making delicious, seasonal food. The candidate must have a switched on attitude and be ready to hit the ground running, this is not a role for a new CDP, experience on the job is essential.
The Restaurant will be expanding within the next year so possibilities of progressing are definitely available so we are looking for candidates that are committing to the role and are serious about progressing and growing within the team.


• To prepare high quality and appropriate quantities of food for the various services and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the quality as determined by the Head Chef.
• Maximise the safe storage of food and minimise food wastage.
•To achieve and maintain the highest possible standards of health and hygiene and report any deficiencies to the Head Chef.
• To take an active part in daily team briefings and undertake other related duties as requested.

Experience and Skills required:

• Minimum of 1.5 years working in a 2 AA Rosette kitchen.
• A formal and recognised qualification in professional cookery such as a NVQ Lv 1 minimum (or equivalent).
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Training on HACCP & COSHH systems.
• Creative and passionate about food.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and support others during demanding periods.

• Flexible as regards to shift patterns.
• Responsible and trustworthy.
• Good interpersonal skills to work well within a team.
• Switched on, ready to hit the ground running.

Salary and Benefits:

• My client is offering the successful Senior Chef de Partie up to £25K, plus tips.
• Full time role, split shifts, working pattern is 4 days work / 3 days off.
• 20 days annual leave + bank holidays
• Own transportation may be needed, depending on your location. Otherwise live in available at £100.00 per week in a private room for single occupancy, with shared communal lounge and kitchen.
