Senior Account Manager (agency)

My client has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Senior Account Manager to join their busy Client Services team. Reporting to the Client Services Director, you will play a key role in the development and commercial growth of the clients within the agency.

Key Responsibilities

Meeting sales targets: working closely with the Client Services Director, you will identify and create opportunities within existing and new client relationships to contribute to the overall sales targets.

Proposals and pitches: you’ll be a whizz with words. Taking the lead on developing persuasive and creative high-quality proposals and pitch documents for new and existing clients. You’ll also be an experienced presenter, able to communicate creative ideas and approaches passionately to stakeholders at all levels.

Client development: spending time with your clients, you’ll get to know their business, customers and market and be responsible for creating and executing individual plans for their development.

Project Management: with an eye for detail and strong commercial focus, you’ll be able to oversee projects from inception to delivery maintaining the quality, profitability and scope of all projects you own.

Coaching: as a Senior Account Manager, you’ll be able to coach and mentor junior members of the team. Teaching tradecraft and helping them to achieve their objectives.

Required skills

Excellent relationship building skills: you must be able to create rapport and build strong long-lasting relationships with clients at all levels.

Excellent communication skills: it is essential that you are fully confident to take on a client-facing role with the necessary skills required to work with, negotiate and manage clients, suppliers and colleagues.

Attention to detail: you must have a keen eye for detail and a calm approach when under pressure.

Passion and creative thinking: you must have the ability to problem solve and think creatively, coupled with the passion and drive to deliver great work.


It is critical that you have a solid understanding of the digital landscape ideally gained through hands-on experience of managing digital client accounts and projects within a creative agency environment or similar. Experience of working with print / brand is also desirable.

Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent): preferably in marketing / business management or similar.

At least four years’ experience either gained in:
• an agency environment (currently working as a Senior Account Manager/Account Manager),
• or an internal client-side role with relevant online marketing experience, where you have had to service internal/external customers both with reactive and proactive servicing.

At least two years’ experience of managing and owning client/stakeholder relationships, with responsibility for account development, financials and management.

Worked in a project-based environment and had responsibility for delivering projects on-time and on-budget.
