Revenues and Benefits Officer

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
£12.00 – £15.00 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking service, dealing with the assessment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims and billing and collection of Council Tax. This area of work is rapidly changing and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help our service move forward with the coming changes.

The role requires someone with excellent interpersonal and numeracy skills, a flexible approach to work and the ability to work well under pressure either as part of a team or independently.

The successful candidate will have good IT skills with the ability to understand in-house administrative software, be proactive, forwarding thinking with a can do attitude and committed to delivering an excellent service.

Experience in the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims and billing and collection of Council Tax is not essential as full training will be given, although knowledge of the legislation relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit is required.
