Project Manager

We have a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join a great team in central Cambridge. You will manage technology projects through initiation, delivery and closing phases. You will ensure the project is delivered to the agreed schedule, budget and quality.
Taking over the management of existing projects, including the implementation of a financial consolidation and reporting tool, as well as managing new projects.
This role is available on a 6 month FTC.
The role:
• Creating, planning, approval and management of deliverable and focussed projects. Managing realistic delivery estimates based on a combination of experience, negotiation with delivery team and empirical statistics.
• Day to day monitoring and control of project progress to ensure delivery remains in-line with defined cost, quality and resource allocations.
• Liaison with a range of high level peers, stakeholders and governance bodies to find resolutions to dependency conflicts across projects.
• Proactive identification, analysis, management and escalation of risks and issues.
• The creation and maintenance of PM documentation throughout the end to end life cycle of projects.
• Creation, distribution and presentation of reports.
• Matrix management responsibility for team members throughout the duration of their allocation to projects.
• Work with peers actively to promote the adoption and practice of professional PM processes across the department.
• Proactively attend conferences, meetings and network events to build relationships with PM professionals across the UK and promote the excellence of the department.
About you:
• PRINCE2 OR APMP/PMQ certification.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and create high-performing teams.
• Experience of utilising waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Strong background in technology projects with demonstrable experience managing full lifecycle projects.
• Strong background delivering projects within a shared service function ie Finance, legal, HR
• Experience managing large project budgets and complex schedules including negotiation of contracts.
• MS Project experience.
