Full time (40 hours per week)

We are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant on behalf of, our client, a renowned management and technology-based consultancy to the petrochemical industry, with clients in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. To be successful you will:
• Have a minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Project Accountant
• Have experience of using Oracle Fusion accounting package
• Be a qualified/part qualified Accountant or Bookkeeper.
• Be able to get up to speed quickly with other accounting systems.
• Fast learner
• Team player
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure

• Experience of working in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry.

Main Responsibilities
1. Setting up of new projects within project accounting systems
2. Review, update and maintain project information and budgets within the accounting systems to ensure revenue is reported as accurately as possible for fixed-price projects.
3. Ensure time spent, materials used and monitoring of project milestones are continually updated to show accurate contract values and forecasted hours.
4. Track milestones and liaise with project managers to ensure invoices are accurately raised and sent on time to the customer.
5. Obtaining bid and performance bonds for projects.
6. Contact client one week after invoice is raised to confirm safe receipt of invoice and payment.
7. Warn Finance Director of potential collections problems and discuss routes to escalate.
8. Post cash receipts when invoices paid.
9. Reconcile AR balance on balance sheet with AR aging report.
10. Prepare month-end inter-company invoices for posting.
11. Management reporting of above areas including project performance, revenue recognised for the month-to-date, over-dues and other KPI’s.
12. Assist with the year-end audit and any other ad hoc requirements.

This role will entail travel to the US consultancy office and possibly other offices around the world. It is envisaged to be up to once a month initially and then regularly in future.
