Production Assistant

At Select Norwich, we are currently recruiting for a Production Administrator/Assistant on behalf of our client based near Bury St Edmunds, who operate within Engineering and Manufacturing.
The Production Administrator/Assistant will support the Operations Manager, Purchasing and Production departments.

The Role:
• The Production Administrator/Assistant will assist the Operations Manager with duties such as:
o Keep order tracker updated and run production planning
o Complete background maintenance on lead times, BOMs, etc.
o Keep QHSE folders up to date by updating new risk assessments etc.
o Review order backlogs, confirm lead time for incoming orders to ensure customer needs are met

• Assist Purchasing Department with duties such as:
o Support in raising purchase orders and booking goods in
o Expedite Purchase Orders to meet production plan, ensure to notify Operations and Sales Managers of any shortages
o File Purchase Orders, Goods Received Notes etc.

• Assist Shop Floor with duties such as:
o Picking and packing
o Collate and data input for shop floor timesheets
o Scan in results of product testing
o Collate documentation for product reference book

Experience and Skills Required:
• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is ideal
• Able to read Bill of Materials and pick relevant parts for assembly
• IT Literate – confident user of MS Office
• Numerate and able to work with data
• Work with accuracy and precision

• Thrive under pressure; able to work to tight deadlines

Salary and Benefits:
• Salary of £20-24K depending on experience
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 25 days + bank holidays after 2 years service
• Pension scheme
