Product Manager

My client, who are leaders in their field are now seeking a Product Manager to join their established team.

Your role will be to manage the product and its development through its product lifecycle by gathering and prioritising customer and product requirements; defining the product vision and working closely with engineering and design teams to deliver exceptional products.

The role of the Product Manager also ensures that the product and marketing efforts are coordinated and support the Company’s overall strategy and goals.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 To input into Strategic Product Development (SPD) and New Product Development (NPD)
 Research the current and emerging competition and understand the market fully; including understanding market drivers, maintaining an up to date competitor database, market positioning map and market segmentation map
 Develop the core positioning and message for the product
 Develop a product strategy and road map
 Constantly re-evaluate the product proposition throughout its lifecycle
 Perform product demonstrations and training
 Set and continually review pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
 Deliver sales, revenue and market trends forecasts
 Liaise with Marketing And Communications to advise in the development of sales tools, promotions and supporting materials
 Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
 Create launch packs for all new products launched
 To understand the NCPC Process (New Product Creation Process) and apply its use in product/projects.
 Liaise with Marketing Communications to advise in the development of sales briefs, and product briefs to marketing agencies. This includes providing product messaging, positioning and market intelligence.
 When required assist marketing communications in the development of promotional campaigns with customers.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
 Minimum of 2 year experience within a Product Management role (or similar commercial or technical position)
 Can demonstrate success or understanding in defining and launching excellent products
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels both within and external to the organisation
 Proven ability to successfully influence cross functional teams
 Excellent team working skills
 Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
 Must be able to travel and possess a full clean UK driving license
 Candidate would preferably be educated to degree level or equivalent
 A very good understanding of government policy and legislative drivers and their impact on product evolution.
