Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a rapidly growing company based on the outskirts of LIncoln.

Job Summary:

You will ensure the quality of the manufacturing and production machinery continually meets or exceeds the company expectations. You will ensure equipment and appliances meet company safety requirements.


•Actively champion health and safety, ensuring that a safe working environment exists for all employees and as a minimum, meets the standards set out in the company’s health, safety and environmental policies.
•Uphold and exceed standards of food safety and hygiene ensuring all work areas are tidy, adopting a ‘clean as you go’ approach at all times.
•Undertake and deliver the PPM schedule and formulate improved maintenance practices.
•Conduct continuous monitoring of production lines to identify and implement improvements.
•Carry out machine inspections, conduct relevant repairs or improvements on equipment.
•Provide mechanical and electrical assistance to breakdowns in a fast paced environment.
•Detailed logistical planning of your workload including administration.
•Ability to investigate and diagnose root cause of equipment failures and deliver effective repairs in a timely manner, ensuring the smooth running of the manufacturing process.
•Proactive approach in identifying and eliminating recurring faults by implementing long term fixes.
•Uphold and exceed BRC Standards of product quality throughout the clean room appropriate to an industry leading quality food manufacturer.
•To be aware of budget and stock control and maintain paperwork to a high standard.
•Ability to install and commission new equipment into the manufacturing process in a timely manner to meet manufacturing requirements.
•Train and coach other visiting sub-contractors on company procedures for clean rooms and health & safety, where applicable.
•Assist in the coverage of shift in times of holiday, sickness, training etc.
•To assist in other duties as reasonably requested

The Person:

•Have a proven track record in a Multi-Skilled Engineering Team Member role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry).
•Ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical engineering and previous experience in fault finding methodology.
•Experience of continuous improvements programmes to deliver benefits in efficiency and quality.
•Ability to communicate at all business levels, with good overall commercial awareness.
•Experience of working in a clean room environment (desirable)
•Have an understanding of BRC Standards and HACCP principles.
•IT literate with good written and verbal communication skills.
•PLC experience (desirable)
•18th edition (desirable)
•Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Hours of work are 4 days on 4 days off working 6:00pm – 6:00am.
