Customer Service / Processing Assistant

Our client is seeking Customer Service / Processing clerks to join their team in Northampton. This is a great opportunity to join on a temporary to permanent basis, working Monday to Friday in a great team environment with terrific training and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities:
*Deal with telephone enquiries from members of the public
*Providing advice to members of the public on the current legislation
*Log all telephone conversations on the system
*Scan, index and progress all correspondence onto the processing system daily
*Answer correspondence making relevant checks and reply ensuring all points are answered
*Liaise with managers regarding Policies and Criteria
*Liaise with the senior staff regarding any discrepancies/ queries and update system as necessary
*Maintain all current filing / information systems within the department.
*Ensure all outgoing letters are franked and posted on a daily basis.
*Develop an understanding and appreciation for background material (All reading material provided)
*Participate and complete other duties and tasks as necessary as and when requested by the supervisor or manager
*Ensure that all data is handled and stored in line with the data protection act

Skills required:
*Good level of secondary education required
*Fast and accurate computer keyboard skills
*Numerate with good verbal and written communication skills
*Computer literate, including Word, Excel and Outlook
*Experience of working in a customer service environment
