At Select Hospitality Tunbridge Wells we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Conferencing & Banqueting Manager

The Role
To manage and be responsible for all conferencing and banqueting services, catering and associated commercial hospitality, weddings, and to assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the development of the internal and external income-generating potential. The post holder will be required to promote an efficient, effective and professional customer-focused business culture.

• To oversee the day-to-day management, development and control of the conferencing & banqueting operation, including involvement in the sales and booking process.
• Understand that this is a ‘hands-on’ position which will include production and service duties as required for the supervision, training and development of staff.
• To manage and deliver the highest quality service which demonstrates flair, imagination and a commercial awareness that takes into account current trends in the catering industry and meets customer needs and preferences, whilst being mindful of tradition.
• To maintain and develop all systems, procedures and documentation needed to conform to prevailing Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH legislation and conform with best practice in the industry.
• Undertake other related duties, which may be requested by the management due to the nature and character of the business and associated activities.

Experience and Skills required
• Experience in running a large banqueting operation within either a five star Hotel, Wedding Venue, Function Suite, or equivalent establishment.
• A working knowledge of, and a proven track record in, delivering classical and modern conference & banqueting services is essential, along with the ability to manage personnel, stock and general administration.
•Candidates must have a good working knowledge of the relevant Food Hygiene & Health and Safety regulations.
•The candidate must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office, a detailed knowledge of access database systems, EPOS systems, and understand profit-and-loss accounting.

•My client is offering the successful candidate a salary of between £26,000 – £28,000pa
