The company sells its products and services in the global market on a primarily business-to-business basis through a network of distributors and installer-resellers. Management and expansion of this network is an essential element in maintaining and growing our market share, and this role plays a key part of achieving that objective. Working with and in support of the Business Development Managers, the Business Development Executive will be heavily involved in day-to-day customer interaction and relationship-building with a view to enhancing the business’ relationship with its customers, new and old.

Job Purpose

To maximise the effectiveness of the Business Development Managers by producing high quality leads and working as a team towards agreed set targets and profitability goals. To provide a high level of sales support by ensuring all leads are responded to in an efficient, professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities, produce leads and book appointments for the Business Development Managers with the emphasis on high quality
leads.
• Develop creative pitches and propositions aimed at specific industry sectors
• Proactively follow up leads generated from canvassing by the Business Development Managers and Marketing team.
• Use of initiative to identify and follow up opportunities with companies who are not already on the database
• Manage the CRM & CommuniGator lead database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity can take place to
generate new business
• Work closely with the marketing team to achieve lead generation objectives
• Attend monthly meetings with the business development team to update information and discuss any issues
• Liaise effectively with all departments internally to ensure customer requirements are met (Business Development Managers, Technical
Solutions Team, Sales Order Processing Team and Marketing Team).

Skills

• A natural telephone communicator
• Experience working within a proactive sales environment
• A friendly, personable and assured approach with a can-do attitude
• A keen eye for detail ensuring both customers and internal contacts feel “managed”
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues
• The ability to manage customer expectations in a consultative non-confrontational manner
• A willingness to learn product technical details to a basic-to-intermediate level
• Good IT skills, and in particular prior experience of CRM systems
• A strong command of written English
• Occasional travel within the UK (and potentially worldwide) may be required.
• Must be able to deal with and have an interest in technical product information
• Ability to adapt procedures to a new and more effective way of working (in relation primarily to database management)
