Bar & Restaurant Manager

At Select Norwich we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Bar & Restaurant Role working in Trimingham North Norfolk.

The Role

To run and manaage a very popular and busy Bar & Restaurant which is open all year round, the Bar and Restaurant Manager will take full responsibility for House Operations, achieving required profitability levels whilst creating a vibrant atmosphere through seamless service and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced food and beverage professional with a passion for delivery of exceptional levels of customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in setting budgets for the Bar and Restaurant and implement strategies to achieve targets

• Liaise with the Head Chef and Executive Head Chef to plan, promote and manage events and handle all function enquiries and bookings, ensuring the highest standards of service are achieved whilst maintaining required profit margins.

• Ensure delivery of an adaptable atmosphere for the Park’s broad spectrum of customers/guests whatever the occasion of their visit to the Bar and Restaurant. Establish and maintain good relationships with all owners, guests and customers, and handle complaints, requests and enquiries professionally and sensitively.

• Take full responsibility for the smooth running of the Bar and Restaurant, actively managing the team to maintain speed of service and excellent levels of customer satisfaction. Ensure front of house staff are busy and productive at all times.

• Ensure all food and beverage sales are calculated correctly to maintain maximum gross profit and that all products are programmed to relevant tills.

• Ensure procedures regarding financial control, health and safety, licensing law, security and staffing are carried out within required guidelines.

• Attend and actively participate in weekly Leadership Team meetings

• Act as a brand manager for the Holiday Park and ensure our clients values are upheld to both external and internal contacts through appropriate behaviour and performance.

Experience and Skills required

• Have proven managerial experience gained within a similar food and beverage / front of house role

• Have a passion for delivering exceptional levels of customer service

• Have excellent communication skills and an ability to build a rapport with customers, colleagues and team members

• Be resilient and have the ability to diffuse difficult and sensitive situations with confidence and in a professional and genuine manner

• Possess a personal licence to sell alcohol (or gain within 3 months of acquiring role)

• Have a full understanding of licencing law and other relevant legislation

Special Conditions:

Our Bar and Restaurant opening times vary according to season and the Bar and Restaurant Manager will be required to work on a rotating pattern covering mornings, evenings and weekends in line with business requirements, and may be required to work additional shifts/extra hours at short notice in order to maintain required level of staffing. This role requires attendance during all peak periods for the park, which include Bank Holidays and during school holidays.
