Assistant General Manager, Henley-on-Thames

At Select Hospitality Oxford we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assistant General Manager.

The Role

Assistant General Manager looking after a successful restaurant in a beautiful, family run pub/restaurant located on the outskirts of Henley-on-Thames. You will be responsible for all aspects of the operation, working with the owners, ensuring excellent customer service at all times alongside consistently driving standards within the restaurant. The establishment is owned by a husband/wife team, and are looking for an Assistant General Manager who can fit neatly into the close knit team that they have put together. Team retention is high.

My client is looking for a ‘hands on’ manager who lives and breathes hospitality and is willing to “get their hands dirty” and be an active part of service. The industry must be a passion for you. I am looking for a candidate who is inspirational and can provide strong leadership. Leading and developing their team from the front. You must be a people person, naturally positive and be a bright, welcoming presence in the establishment, but “firm but fair” when necessary.

A clear progression path to GM has been created as well.

Experience and Skills required:

• Motivational and inspirational approach to ensure that you get the best out of every member of team
• Encourage and develop your teams to provide the best service around
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to train and develop the team
• Experience in conducting stock takes and adhering to set GP’s
• Experience working with and serving fresh food
• Working knowledge, and love of good wine, beer and spirits
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Strong numeracy skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy, high quality pub or restaurant

Salary and Benefits

My client is offering the successful Restaurant General Manager a salary of circa £27,000 – £37,000 per year inc TRONC depending on the candidate.
5 day work week, establishment is closed 2 days a week
