Agency Account Director

A fantastic opportunity is now available for an experienced Account Director / Head of Account Management to join this growing agency in Norwich.

You will be a bright, driven, hands on Account Director who is able to extend their responsibilities as part of a management team at a growing branding,
design and digital agency. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude, sound reporting and branding experience, determination to deliver brilliant project
management/client service, with a passion for creative work and making money for the business, in equal measure.

Primary Role
Personally managing client relationships and projects across a number of accounts and adding value to the business by developing existing business and
identifying potential new business opportunities.
Working closely with the Directors on client accounts and new business pitches.
Responsible for overseeing the Account Management team, covering all aspects of project delivery and client service.

Main Responsibilities
– client management (primary)
● To build relationships with clients, working with them as part of their team
● To develop strong working relationships with colleagues
● Ensure delivery of work on-time, on budget and profitably
● To confidently and passionately plan, write and deliver client presentations and proposals
● Develop briefs, write proposals and guide others on this
● Actively manage the client relationship on a day to day basis, anticipating client needs, setting agendas, running internal/external meetings,
handling issues that arise as part of the project process, working with the designers/production/finance and client champions
● Grow client revenue, create new opportunities within existing client base
● Provide clients with sound, clear advice

– department management (primary)
● Oversee and motivate account handlers
● Supporting reportees and guiding career development
● Monitoring forecasting/budgets, estimating, invoicing
● Host regular Account Management meetings
● Responsible for account management procedures and organise training for reportees (both internal and external)
● Allocate clients/projects to reportees and communicate to wider team
● Responsible for hiring new recruits in the Account Management team
● Working directly with the Management Team to report on company issues and help in further developing the business goals

– project management (primary)
● Detailed definition of project scope, requirements and deliverables
● Manage projects and project changes profitably
● Create and manage accurate project budgets
● Develop and maintain project work plans
● Financial management: accurate estimating, forecasting, invoicing
● Internal resource allocation and coordination
● Set up and manage project reviews
● Supplier negotiation, liaison and management
● Proactively identify issues and risks and develop contingency plans
● Recording key actions through contact reports

– workflow / process (primary)
● Coordinate, monitor and prioritise workflow through agency in conjunction with Directors, through daily updates to agency work planning
● Work with Digital and Creative departments to ensure quality control procedures are followed (including client and internal signoff procedures)

– new business and business development (secondary)
● Support and organise resource for pitches as per a client project (including cost and schedule development)
● Read around your subject (developments in branding, on-line, reporting, client service, getting and recognising great creative work, effective project
management etc)
● Present at client and new business meetings/pitches

Education
Ideally a graduate from a quality university, ideally with 6+ years experience, mainly in design/ branding/communications agency. Must have held an Account Director’s
position previously. Will have had some experience of running a small team but unlikely to have held a Head of Account Management role before.
